The Spirit Project
Spirit is a carefully targeted, specialist
service whose mission, above all else, is to create a community where there
is no community, where it has been forgotten and lost or has never existed.
We achieve this by using a series of innovative
initiatives to re-ignite a new sense of community spirit and cohesion and then
use this newly established collective voice to empower the community, solving
social, economic and personal problems.
Key Initiatives Include:
- Community Motivators. This is a ‘pro-active’ role that involves
actively encouraging community spirit amongst the micro community’s members as
well as facilitating and measuring the various Community Spirit initiatives
outlined below.
‘Friends and Neighbours’. The Honeycombe Effect TM
This is a key innovation in the
development of community spirit in an area.
It is defined as a rotating series
of community themed events held at member’s homes to which upto 10-15 near neighbours and friends are invited to attend. Think Body Shop party but with a community theme.
Why Honeycombe? Because the social meetups will look liek a group of interconnecting honeycombe cells, each supporting end working with the other to combat issues such as money problems, isolation or domestic abuse.
